Bassenthwaite Reflections is a community programme that was developed by partner organisations who have a vested interest in the welfare and preservation of our environment.
Our parent body:
The Bassenthwaite Lake Restoration Programme (BLRP) is set up to tackle the issues that are contributing to the deteriorating water quality in Bassenthwaite Lake.
The BLRP are tackling the economic and environmental impacts on the lake. But In order to progress to a sustainable solution to the lakes problems, we needed people power!
The 3 year Bassenthwaite Reflections programme was developed by our partners and submitted to the Heritage Lottery Fund. In November 2006 Bassenthwaite Reflections was awarded £2.8m in funding from the Heritage Lottery Fund.
Heritage Lottery Fund backing has enabled us to implement this programme, and work towards ensuring the landscape of Bassenthwaite Lake and its catchment is understood, valued and protected by the whole community, now and for future generations.
