
This Government-funded authority is responsible for looking after the natural beauty, wildlife and cultural heritage of the Lake District. The LDNPA provide opportunities for people to understand and enjoy the special qualities of England's finest landscape.
The LDNPA owns Bassenthwaite Lake and some sections of shoreline.

One of the world's leading conservation charities, the National Trust looks after 63,000 hectares of sites of special scientific interest in England, accounting for 6% of the total. They also own and care for one quarter of the land in the Lake District. The conservation and management of the Lake District's woodlands, fells and footpaths forms a major part of the work in the North West Region.

The public body responsible for the protection and expansion of Britain's forests and woodlands, increasing their value to society and the environment.

The Heritage Lottery Fund has provided funding for the 3 year Bassenthwaite Reflections Programme.
Their primary purpose however, is to guide the development of the Reflections projects which will help the Heritage Lottery protect the landscape heritage and to assist the partnership in protecting the lake through community involvement.

Grampus Heritage and Training Ltd is a non-profit making organisation based in the North West of England. They are involved in the management and promotion of European projects concerned with culture, heritage, archaeology and the environment. Grampus promote the EU Leonardo da Vinci Training Programme and provide funded training opportunities through this programme to UK students, recent graduates and young workers.

Cumbria County Council is a directly elected body providing a wide range of important public services for the people of Cumbria. The Council also champions the interests of Cumbria at regional, national and European levels. Cumbria County Council aims to ‘Build Pride in Cumbria’.
