Education and Learning
Education and Learning is critical to the long term success of the Reflections programme, and is therefore integral to all of our projects. Many of our projects already engage young people in a range of activities, including; conservation, learning about our cultural heritage, and participating in journeys here and abroad.

But we also have a dedicated Education Officer, whose focus is on 3 key areas of development.

The 3 areas in our Educational and Learning programme are:

School Resource Pack
A Bassenthwaite Reflections resource pack is being developed that will link our projects to the national curriculum in a number of subject areas, including; Science, Geography and History.

These materials will help bring subjects to life, by making them familiar and relevant to the students.

Study Support
Our study support programme is providing specialist tutors to work with schools on fun, practical sessions to supplement their school work. These sessions cover many areas including Vikings, art, music, dance and local wildlife.

All the sessions are interactive and relate back to understanding and looking after the Bassenthwaite catchment.

Family Learning
Our family learning sessions are held to raise awareness amongst young people and families of the environmental, cultural and heritage issues surrounding the Bassenthwaite Lake.
